Just yesterday, August 17th, ten brave Enactus Sheffield members agreed to complete a 5km fun run at Rother Valley Country Park.
Entrepreneur Extraordinaires, Mat Davies and Emily Larsen, give us the low down:
"We completed the run in an effort to raise money for our new international project, Tapping Potential.
But that's not all! Not only
did we want to run the 5km, but we decided to challenge ourselves further by
(attempting) to run with buckets filled with up to 10 litres of water!"
World Cup Presenter, Kyle Spinks has got the eye of the tiger! |
"We did
this to ultimately raise awareness and emphasise the fact that everyone should
not only have the right to clean water, but have easy access to it as well!"
Enactus Sheffield Alum, Rob Ryan and Project Director, Trish Roberts putting on a gun show! |
"The challenge proved a lot tougher
than anticipated, however it allowed us to realise the position of those people who have to walk that far, just to have water (that is not necessarily clean) every single day!"
So much respect goes to our running team (L-R): Mat Davies, Tim Dixon, Trish Roberts, Rob Ryan, Kirsty MacDiarmid, Bent Bunge, Emily Larsen, Kyle Spinks, Mike Portnell and Elmo Law. |
"We did all manage to complete the
run, crossing the finishing line with aching arms and tired legs! The run was
an amazing experience, and proved to be a great opportunity to raise awareness and
money for Tapping Potential. So far, the donations have exceeded £500, and are
still coming in!"
