Post-World Cup: Thank you!

Today officially marks one week after World Cup Competition, so we think it fitting to externalise our withdrawal symptoms one final time. With quotes from the Beijing Team on their thoughts on competition and our HR director posing as a prized bass, it is Enactus Sheffield at it's best!

#theworldisours
This Wednesday, we had our first Enactus evening with the team back in the UK and back to (somewhat) normal. With the exception of jet-lag and the mystery of everyone waking up systematically at 4am every morning, the team is pumped - ready to see opportunity and take action!

Legendary Flag-Bearer, Nationals Extraordinaire and International Project Director (can you say triple threat?) : Jonny Morris, weighs in on competition:

"World Cup is so huge, it's easy to feel small. Yet since the whole point of the competition is to put your projects on a stage and show the world the work you do, you quickly realise how essential every Enactus student is to the life-changing work that is done globally, and the feeling of pride of it all is immeasurable."

We are unbelievably honoured to have presented alongside the best Enactus Teams worldwide! We hold you all in the greatest esteem - it was an absolute pleasure to share the room with you all!

Ellie Morrisey, HOPE Project Director and Logistics Maven discusses her thoughts on World Cup:

"World Cup to me is how we show everyone we are proud of what we do, its how we show off the women's growth, and show them that we and the world are so proud of how far they've come. We get such incredible support from World Cup and all of the projects were amazing!"

Indeed, we do get incredible support! A big thank you goes out to Enactus Worldwide, Enactus UK and all the Alumni who spent ridiculous hours with us, we enjoyed every second!

We wouldn't be anywhere without the support of the University and specifically the ongoing support of USE and the Management School. Your support is invaluable and we cannot thank you enough!

Caroline Turner, our Managing Director and All-Round Legend on World Cup:

" World Cup is not just about the competition, although being placed in the top 8 teams in the world and losing out by only three points to the eventful winners was a big achievement. World Cup is about being inspired, seeing the best team in the world and the collective difference the Enactus programme can make all over the world. In fact, one of the best parts of World Cup is the culture fair where each country showcases specialities from their own countries through dance, music, costume and giveaways - not many people can say they've experienced 36 cultures in one afternoon!"

Could not have said it better myself!

We are so grateful to have the network of support that we do, but if not for our dedicated members, none of this would be possible! It it their true compassion that inspires me personally to do what I do. Appropriately, our HR Director, Elmo Law, leaves us with one final thought on World Cup Competition:

"Five out of five Bananas. Would Deffo do again
