Summer Action!

Just yesterday, Enactus Sheffield and the University of Sheffield's Enterprise Zone welcomed Enactus teams from all over the Northern Region, all the way from Oxford to Teeside for Summer Action training.

The teams began piling in at 10am, starting the day with a bang - quite literally! We rightfully began with a superb game of Splat-Bang! Excitement was in the air and friendly shots were fired, leading to a tie between Sheffield and Lancaster. Well done everyone!

The day was filled with invaluable information on Summer Action points, recruitment strategies and success stories. Big love to Enactus Essex, who transformed from a team of 3 to 130 over last summer; they are so inspiring and we wish you all the best of luck!

After lunch, Emma Grant, from Enterprise Rent-A-Car came by to discuss recruitment, where we won some vouchers (score!), pens and notebooks - never can get enough of those, am I right?

While we were admiring our Gospel (otherwise known as our Summer Action Pack) we attempted to spell Enactus using ONLY our bodies. Thank you Enactus Lincoln for that wonderful exercise; highlight of the day!

We rounded off the day with an Enactus mega-social, with drinks (2 for 1!!) at Vodka Revs, where the Teeside team bought us all a free round! Can't thank you enough, Teeside!

A big thank you to Enactus UK and Programme Managers: Abbey, Mike, Emma and Rebecca! We had so much fun and can't wait to see you all very soon!

Enactus Summer

University is over, and to celebrate, we have kicked off with the launch of Enactus Summer!

The day began with team building in the form of navigating an obstacle course blindfolded, constructing the most cheap and effective "parachute" for an uncooked egg (which turned out to be loads of folded newspaper); and the classic: the human knot, where some of our best may or may not have been caught in compromising positions.

With almost 35 people, we shared personal stories of why we joined Enactus, concluding that our outgoing HR director, Kirsty MacDiarmid is the best story teller of all time. Not to mention she also won the ultimate game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. Legend.

Alas, the day had to end sometime, where one of our members called it 'the ultimate bonding experience'. But it was not only the members, our executive team had caught the emotional bug as well, confessing our love for Alvin Rohrs (CEO and Founder of Enactus) on multiple occasions. Which is actually quite normal, come to think of it.

To top it all off, we celebrated Caroline's birthday, our phenomenal managing director! Happy Birthday to our lovely leader! You keep us grounded and strong, and we hope to make you proud!

We love you all and can not wait to get to know you all!

Handover Presents: Jecki Appreciation

The academic year is now over, which means handover is officially complete.

So I would like to introduce myself as the new PR and Media Executive! I will now be writing all the blogs and handling our twitter account, follow us here: @EnactusSheff ! Be sure to say hello, we love making new friends!

Although I am over the moon with my new role, I can't help but think I have some big (summer time weird) shoes to fill! My legendary predecessors, Becki Morris and Jo Wyld, have done so much and have outdone themselves time and time again. Your motivation and creativity is so inspiring and through watching you and working alongside you, I am in awe - I hope I can make you both proud!

Jecki: Becki Morris (L), Jo Wyld (R)
