Gunge-a-linguist is back!

This afternoon students at Sheffield University gathered to watch one unlucky linguist get covered in 64 litres of bright, smelly, sticky gunge... all the raise money for the Enactus project Blankets 4 Bolivia. This year, one unlucky lecturer was going to get gunged too! Having been standing overnight, the gunge was unbelievably thick, and felt even more slimy than you could ever imagine...

At 1pm a big envelope appeared which was to decide the fate of the linguists.... This years unlucky winner was Jenny Yates, joined by her lecturer Jane Hodson! They looked very unhappy as they were drenched in blue and green gunge.

But it was not over. A collection bucket went round with the aim of raising a further £30 for the Blankets 4 Bolivia, and as a well done to the audience for raising more money, another linguist was chosen to step into the paddling pool! The audience voted (in the second year running) for Rob Ryan and his lecturer Gary Wood...

A big thank you to Munya Chawawa, who presented at the BRIT Awards red carpet this year for hosting the event! Munya skilfully managed to avoid getting gunge on his leopard print gilet.

We're very pleased to announce that this year the total raised was well over £600!
